Senior Director / VP, Marketing & Content
The Opportunity:
Team Liquid is looking for a senior marketing professional who knows how to do more with less and thrives on it. This is not a role for someone who needs a big team and a big budget to do great work. It’s for someone who sees constraints as creative fuel.
As Senior Director / VP of Marketing & Content, you’ll oversee a focused global team spanning creative, social media, marketing, and production. You’ll be coming in at an inflection point. The structural changes are largely done, and your job is to set the direction, establish how the team operates, and build the culture and cadence that drives results.
The emphasis is on high-volume, high-impact digital execution. This includes short-form content, platform-native storytelling, and AI-assisted production, while still creating the occasional standout piece when the moment calls for it.
You’ll be overseeing fan engagement and partner success across multiple regions. Brand positioning sits with our Co-CEOs, so your focus is squarely on content and marketing execution. You will also need to operate with strong brand instincts and a sharp eye for what’s on-voice and what isn’t.
What You'll Own:
Oversee and maximize the output of a lean global team spanning creative, social media, marketing, and production. Own the marketing P&L, set priorities, and allocate resources for maximum return. You’ll be inheriting a team mid-restructure. Expect to shape it significantly in the first few months.
Develop and execute a strategy centered on short-form content and high-volume digital distribution. The goal is faster, broader reach. This does not always mean the most polished production.
Embed AI tools across content development, production, post-production, and distribution to drive efficiency and innovation. Ensure all usage is legal, ethical, and appropriate.
Interpret each partner’s KPIs and ensure co-branded content meets their goals without compromising the Team Liquid brand. Both brands should coexist seamlessly in every activation.
Serve as a senior marketing counterpart to the Sales & Partnerships team. Work closely with partnership teams to shape campaigns that deliver measurable value to sponsors while strengthening Team Liquid’s audience engagement.
Participate in key partnership conversations and pitches when marketing expertise is required. Translate partner goals into clear content strategies and marketing plans that deliver both fan engagement and commercial value.
Every piece of content, including partner activations, should offer genuine value to our audience. Long-term audience engagement is non-negotiable.
Define how Team Liquid tells its story across platforms, with a focus on scalable, multi-channel distribution and meaningful monetization opportunities.
Set KPIs, manage lean budgets, and drive a reporting cadence focused on cost-per-engagement, audience growth, and partner ROI.
Oversee content planning aligned to key esports, industry, and partner moments throughout the year, with a focus on organic reach and smart content repurposing.
Monitor the industry landscape, fan sentiment, and industry trends to identify opportunities for nimble, cost-effective growth.
What We're Looking For:
7+ years of progressive digital marketing experience supporting an international brand, entertainment company, or sports organization.
Proven ability to oversee and motivate lean, high-velocity teams and build a culture where people experience ownership and accountability.
Deep hands-on experience with short-form platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) and a track record of driving meaningful audience growth.
Practical experience integrating AI into content production and distribution pipelines, with strong ethical and legal awareness.
Experience in both B2B and DTC marketing, with a clear awareness of how to serve partner KPIs while protecting brand identity.
Commercially minded and comfortable with P&L ownership, budget management, and ROI-focused reporting.
Solid knowledge of content production workflows and experience managing creative teams across time zones.
Strong awareness of the esports and gaming ecosystem. You don’t need to be a player, but familiarity with the culture is important.
A genuine sense of humor and instinct for what works online. We want content that people want to distribute.
Ability to align departments across geographies with a clear sense of purpose and maintain momentum when situations become complex.
What to Expect Coming In
We believe in being upfront. This team has gone through a significant period of change. By the time you join, the structural work will largely be behind us. What’s ahead is the more interesting opportunity. Establishing a new operating model, setting a clear creative direction, and building the type of team culture that attracts strong people and keeps them.
You’ll also have the opportunity to make targeted additions to the team as the function evolves.
Brand strategy sits with our Co-CEOs, so this role isn’t overseeing brand positioning at the highest level. What you will own is everything that keeps the brand visible day-to-day. This includes the content, the voice, the creative output, and the marketing engine behind it.
