Apparel Growth & Marketing Manager
The Opportunity:
Team Liquid works with some of the world's most iconic anime franchises and turns those partnerships into premium, high-quality apparel. We have the IP, we have the product, and we have a loyal base of Team Liquid fans who buy what we make.
What we don't yet have is reach beyond them.
Our biggest challenge, and the core of this role, is growing sales by reaching anime fans who have never heard of Team Liquid. People who love One Piece, Naruto, Solo Leveling, and Witch Hat Atelier, who would buy our product if they knew it existed and saw themselves in it. This role exists to find those people, reach them, and convert them into customers.
This is a commercial role first and a creative role second. You will own the marketing strategy for our apparel collections end to end, and you will be measured on whether that strategy grows revenue and acquires new customers, not on how many posts went out or how many likes they got.
You are the person accountable for the commercial performance of our apparel marketing. You will not be producing content or managing our social channels day to day. We have teams for that. Your job is to decide what we make, who we are trying to reach, how we reach them, and whether it worked.
Location: São Paulo, Brazil. Candidates must be available for onsite collaboration at our São Paulo office at least three days per week.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Own the go-to-market strategy for each collection, with a clear point of view on the target audience, the channels, and the expected commercial outcome.
Build demand among non-endemic anime audiences who don't already know Team Liquid, using a mix of paid media, creator partnerships, community seeding, and earned media.
Grow our Team Liquid branded collections alongside the anime work. These serve our core fan base, and your job is to market them in a way that deepens loyalty and drives repeat purchase.
Drive growth on Amazon. A meaningful part of our business lives on Amazon, and you will help grow it, thinking about how our marketing, listings, and demand generation translate into performance on the platform.
Define and brief the creative. You will write the briefs that our production team executes, translating a collection into a campaign concept, an audience strategy, and an asset list. You set the direction. They make it.
Own paid media strategy and performance. You will decide how budget is allocated across channels, what creative gets tested, and you will read the results and adjust. This is not a hand-it-to-an-agency role.
Direct creator and community marketing. Identify the right creators for each IP and audience, structure the partnerships, and brief our talent team on execution.
Own campaign performance. You will define what success looks like for each campaign in commercial terms, track it, and own the post-mortem when something underperforms.
Live in the communities we want to reach. You should know where anime fans gather, what they respond to, and which IPs are heating up before the licensors do.
What You’ll Need:
3+ years in growth, performance, or commercial marketing, ideally in DTC, apparel, or consumer brand environments. You have owned a budget and been accountable for what it returned.
Demonstrated ability to acquire customers who didn't previously know a brand. You can point to a specific example where your work grew a customer base, not just engagement.
Real fluency with paid media platforms (Meta, TikTok) and a working understanding of how to structure, test, and measure campaigns.
Genuine anime fluency. You watch it, you follow the culture, and you understand how anime aesthetics intersect with streetwear and fashion. This is not a box to check. You will be expected to have a real point of view.
The ability to translate a product into a campaign concept and brief a creative team to execute it.
Strong commercial judgment and comfort owning a number.
Fluent English.
You'll Earn Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience growing a business on Amazon (Seller or Vendor Central, listing optimization, Amazon advertising).
Experience marketing to a North American audience.
Experience with licensed IP and the approval processes that come with it.
Experience in a small or startup environment where you owned a lot and had to build structure yourself.
This is a position with a PJ (Pessoa Jurídica) type of contract.
