Manager, People Experience
The Opportunity:
The Manager, People Experience is a senior people partner role covering our North American employee population. You'll own the full HR operations mandate across the US and Canada — employment compliance, benefits administration, payroll, and EOR relationship management — while also serving as a trusted partner to business leaders on workforce planning, talent, and organizational design.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You'll manage one People & Culture Advisor in São Paulo and will be expected to bring deep knowledge of US and Canadian employment law, benefits architecture, EOR partnerships, and HRIS platforms — particularly TriNet and SAP SuccessFactors — to support a complex, global, and fast-moving organization.
It's a role for someone who can think strategically, execute pragmatically, and build trusted relationships with leaders and employees alike — leading with empathy, clarity, and accountability.
Location: Los Angeles, CA
What You'll Be Doing:
Compliance, Benefits & HR Operations
Administer and manage US employee benefits programs — medical, dental, vision, life, disability — including annual open enrollment, carrier relationships, and ongoing employee support.
Manage 401(k) plan administration, including contributions, compliance testing, employee communications, and coordination with the plan provider.
Serve as the primary owner of the TriNet PEO relationship, managing the platform day-to-day, resolving employee queries, and ensuring data accuracy across payroll, benefits, and compliance modules.
Own the EOR relationship for Canadian employees — serving as the internal point of contact, managing day-to-day HR queries, and ensuring the EOR provider is meeting compliance, payroll, and benefits obligations under Canadian provincial law.
Maintain and administer SAP SuccessFactors for the North American population, including employee records, position management, and compensation data integrity.
Provide expert guidance on complex US and Canadian employee relations matters — performance management, grievances, conflict resolution, and formal investigations — in full compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local labor law.
Ensure compliance with California-specific requirements, including CFRA, PDL, wage and hour regulations, and required government filings.
Maintain and update North America HR policies and the employee handbook, ensuring alignment with global standards and local legal requirements across both markets.
Oversee US employment contracts, onboarding and offboarding logistics, and ensure accurate payroll inputs are submitted to TriNet on time.
Business Partnering & Workforce Planning
Advise leaders on workforce planning, headcount forecasting, and budget alignment before passing requirements to Talent Acquisition.
Lead organizational design initiatives — defining new roles, structuring teams for growth or pivots, and mapping clear internal career pathways.
Drive talent management initiatives (performance reviews, promotion cycles, succession planning) within your portfolio, ensuring consistency and fairness.
Provide regular people data and insights — turnover trends, engagement levels — to inform proactive leadership decision-making.
Employee Engagement, Culture & TA Collaboration
Lead rollout of global engagement surveys within North America and build local action plans based on results.
Deliver culture-building programs, team events, and year-end celebrations for the LA office and the broader North American team.
Partner with ERGs and global DEI initiatives to ensure inclusive, connected experiences.
Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition function, providing North American market context and dotted-line guidance to local recruitment activities where necessary.
Coordinate comprehensive onboarding experiences that integrate new hires into culture, team, and role expectations.
Leadership Coaching & Change Management
Coach and mentor managers across your portfolio to build confidence, capability, and consistency in their daily people management practices.
Guide teams through organizational changes, restructures, or leadership transitions to minimize disruption and maintain morale.
Partner with the global P&C team to identify skill gaps and coordinate tailored development or leadership training initiatives.
Facilities & Workplace Operations
Liaise with the facility team to ensure the LA workplace is safe, welcoming, well-run, and compliant with local health and safety standards. Support remote/distributed Canadian employees on workplace needs as required.
Manage relationships with local suppliers, vendors, and service providers as needed.
Team Management & P&C Projects
Directly manage one People & Culture Advisor based in São Paulo, setting clear goals and maintaining high delivery standards aligned with global P&C strategy.
